For the 13th time, the National Science Centre has announced a call for proposals under its OPUS and PRELUDIUM funding schemes. Researchers may apply for funding from a pool of ca € 67 million under the following funding programmes: - OPUS 13 , funding scheme offers grants for the performance of basic research to all scientists, irrespective of their research experience (proposals submitted under this scheme may include the purchase or construction of research equipment); - PRELUDIUM 13, offers funds to researchers at the beginning of their career who have not been awarded their PhD degree yet. Transforming the University of Warsaw into an internationally recognised research university is one of the strategic objectives of this institution. Therefore, on 1 February 2017 a new model of allocating subsidies from central funds was introduced. They are divided into three categories:

1. SUBSIDIES FOR INCREASING THE CAPACITY TO OBTAIN PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL GRANTS
2. SUBSIDIES FOR RESEARCH CONDUCTED BY UNITS OPERATING WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW
3. MICROGRANTS
