The next Physical Seminar of OK Polish Physics Society will be held on the 25^th of November 2021 at 16:15, online on the MS TEAMS platform. Dr hab. Renata Kopeć, Prof. IFJ (H. Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics PAS) will present: "Five years of proton radiotherapy with the use of a pencil scanning beam at the Cyclotron Center Bronowice IFJ PAN", Prof. Marek Jeżabek (The H. Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences) will deliver a lecture: "How the CCB was built." Summary: 1. The Bronowice Cyclotron Center has two gantry stations where it is possible to use a scanning proton beam for cancer radiotherapy. Proton radiotherapy with the use of a pencil scanning beam is currently one of the most advanced and precise radiotherapeutic techniques using ionizing radiation.
